the mrt ride that made me cry :`(

This might sound funny to others but this really made me upset. Don't worry I'm alright now. I even laugh at myself when i remember what happened. Oh well, I have to get over it somehow. I'm a big girl. But this made me hate public commute more.

I'm not used to going on public commute. It's either my dad picks me up or I bring a car. Even way back during college days, I rarely go out of the house without a car. Except when it's a matter of urgency --- like going to the parlor to have my nails done! hahaha (apple if you're reading this, i know you're laughing already!). Our driver even accompanied me during my first job exam and interview. He waited for me until I was finished because I didn't know how to get home. In short, wala ako iba alam puntahan mag-isa pag malayo na sa bahay namin!

I'm already working now and living away from home. By this time, I should have been familiar with the in and outs of Manila --- let's narrow it down to Makati and Ortigas coz these are the places I frequent. And guess what? I am not. I don't even know what is there beyond Robinson's Galleria. It's not that I don't know where to go, I just don't know how to get there. If I'm gonna ride a cab it's ok. But if I'm gonna take a bus, jeep or MRT, I don't know na. I got lost before just trying to go to the other side! Ask Ivy, she can testify to this.

Since nailaglag ko na ang sarili ko by telling you that I'm not really fond of going on public commute, I'll start with my story about the horrendous MRT ride.

I went home to Laguna this weekend. My dad couldn't give me ride back to Manila so I had to take the bus. So around 5:30pm, I left LB with hopes that I will be in Manila by 7:30pm. It was raining that afternoon so it was really cold inside the bus. Since I didn't have a jacket, I tried to distract myself from the coldness by concentrating on the Schwarzenegger flick being shown on the small television on board. If I'm not mistaken, I think it was "Total Recall". Anyway, while watching the conductor interrupted my "movie-watching" by announcing that we had to transfer to another bus coz our bus's wiper wasn't working. We had no choice but to transfer. It was raining pretty hard and the driver needed that wiper badly. We waited for 15-20 minutes before the next bus arrived. I was really worried with the transfer coz I didn't have an umbrella. I'm not really concerned about me getting wet --- but with my new shoes getting wet! I just bought it. And I don't want to ruin my new pink sandals just because of a defective wiper! So before going down, I checked the place where my feet will land --- if there's a puddle or not. Luckily there was none, so I ran as fast as I could to the other bus. Alas! My new pink sandals and I are safe inside the other bus.

I thought my dilemma was resolved but after an hour of making pigil, I needed to go to the restroom badly. I have to peeeeee!! After waiting for almost 2 hours, I went down Pasay road and headed to the nearest gasoline station. I thought my bladder was going to burst! Waaaahhh!

As I was walking towards EDSA, I saw that the traffic was heavy. If I'm gonna take a cab, I'll be late for sure. It was already 20mins to 9pm. So I decided to take the MRT. I was kinda sweating already when I reached the ticket booth. I almost fainted when I saw the long line! It was already 8:45pm. I don't have any choice at that time but to stick with my decision to take the train. So I lined up and waited for my turn at the ticket booth. After getting my ticket, I hurried downstairs and squeezed my way in to get to the front. There wasn't really any line but there were a lot of people waiting already. When the train came, all the people were rushing to get inside. I really had to be strong and determined to get in to make it inside. You will be pushed and in return you have to push somebody else. After a lot of pushing, finally I got my own spot inside the train. As the train was leaving, someone stepped on my foot. Aaaaaaaaahhh!!! My new shoes!!!!! I glared at the girl in front of me! If looks could kill, she would have dropped dead right then and there! But what can I do? haaaaayyy... =(

When I got off the train, I can feel the tears swelling up my eyes. I tried to keep them from falling. I don't want other people to think I'm crazy or something. I tried to walk faster. I want to reach the office badly and go to the restroom and cry. As I was waiting for the elevator, I saw my honey entering the building. I couldn't contain my tears any more. At last... home... I cried while he hugged me tight.

tiendesitas!

Last sunday, my dear friend Eugene and I had dinner at El Pueblo. We didn't go to a fancy restaurant... we just had sisig and sizzling bangus at congo grill. yyyyyyuuuuuuummmmmmyyyyy! We were really full after having that tasty meal.

We then went to Tiendesitas along meralco ave. It's like mini greenhills with all the frills of Christmas. We also met up with TL Ola. She was our former team leader before she moved to another account. We scouted for Christmas gifts and clothes as well. After several rounds in the bazaar, we got a table and rested. We made "kwento" until 3am! Oh my gosh, we felt that the maintenance people wants to get rid of us already coz we were the only ones left! They kept staring at us but we kept our composure and "kapal ng mukha" and stayed there for as long as we wanted! hahaha.

I wanna go back there with my hunny bunny. I miss him terribly... he's undergoing MDP Training in Insular... so sad tlga... =(

Anyway, here's a picture of me and TL Ola in Tiendesitas!

patience... should it really be one of your virtues???

Does it really pay off to wait for the right guy instead of dating people who are within our reach and readily available?

This a question most of us girls ask ourselves. Honestly, patience is not one of my virtues. If I want something, i'll try to get it right away. I perceive it as a challenge and not as a gift that will land on my feet without doing any hardwork! For example, I really wanted the 2006 Starbucks Planner. At first, I only had 2 stickers on my card. And I have to fill up 19 spots more. I said to myself... "How am i going to get that planner without drinking that much coffee???" I convinced my co-workers to give me their stickers everytime we buy at Starbucks. And viola! After 2 weeks, I was able to get the planner i really really wanted. If I just waited and relied on myself, before the new year starts I would be a coffee junkie... feel bad for still not having that amazing planner... and nearly broke!

Will this same principle work when looking for the right guy? A friend of mine met this guy and is steadily dating him for more than a month now. The first week they spent together was really heaven for her. He wooed her by taking out of town trips, endless texting, romantic chat conversations and with lots of surprises! She never expected that there is still someone out there who believes romance is not dead. She was swept off her feet. But after a few weeks, the guy's hectic schedule came in the way. He wasn't texting that much and the displays of affection became less and less. My friend became weary and tired of waiting. So instead of moping around, my friend was on her feet again and went back to the dating business! She went out with 3 guys within a week! Whooooooaaaah --- technically that can be called speed dating. After being physically and emotionally exhausted, she wondered if she did the right thing. Should she have waited in vain for Mr. right? She asked herself... would spending sleepless nights and lonely dinners be a better alternative to going out with different men and have a potentially great night?

I know this sounds cliche (sarah jessica parker in sex & the city) but sometimes I can't help but wonder... should patience be one of your virtues?

i'm so proud! =)

Yesterday was one of my proudest and happiest moments! Around 11:30pm, TL Auds called me, ivy v. and ivy r. I thought she was going to ask us to conduct a training or go down and smoke. So I got up my chair and went to her station. Before she said anything, she hugged us real tight! And then what happened next was really overwhelming! She announced that slim, ivy v., ivy r. and drei got accepted to MDP. Everybody was really happy for them. At long last, the agony of waiting is over. I've been praying for days now...for slim that is and i really thank God for the blessings. First, it was me who got promoted. Then slim. A very timely Christmas gift! God really pours his blessings to people who deserve it!

Congratulations to my hunny bunny, ms. minchin, mama bear and smile ever! The QSP Team is so proud of you!
